- R
emove all valuables from sight and lock up. - Lock up all prescription medications.
- Never let potential buyers know what your normal routine is.
- Never give out information about your security system or lack thereof.
- If possible, always have someone at home with you when a buyer comes to preview your home.
- Keep a log of everyone who previews your home: name, address, phone number and any additional information that might help in the event of a burglary.
- Never let strangers preview your home alone.
- If you can’t have a neighbor in your home while a buyer is previewing, have a backup plan. Ask a neighbor to watch your home until the potential buyer has gone, or ask them to call you while the buyer is there and ask you if everything is okay and you are comfortable being alone.
