Painting is Fun!
Studios on the Park and the City of Paso Robles have come together to create the first ever Festival of the Arts in the Downtown City Park on May 23rd.
Studios on the Park, founded by Anne Laddon, has arranged for 55 nationally and regionally acclaimed artists to participate in the Festival. The theme this first year is “Follow the River, Paint the Dream,” so invited artists have been asked to create pieces portraying the Salinas River which the public will be able to view at the event.
Events at the Festival will include:
- A public mural project
- Adult art workshops
- Hand’s-on art classrooms for children
- Live music and an afternoon concert in the City Park
- Free scenic tours of the beautiful Salinas River Corridor
Of course, don’t forget there are many, many fine restaurants and wine tasting rooms surrounding the City Park for your enjoyment throughout the day.
Be sure to stop in and see the new Studios on the Park at 1130 Pine Street, which is just across the street from the City Park. This structure will house 20 founding artists until enough funds are acquired to build a new 2-story structure at the site.
Monetary sponsors of the Festival of the Arts include the Paso Robles Senior Advisory Committee, the Library Foundation, the REC Foundation, Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance & the City of Paso Robles.
Hope to see you there!
